Important Information on IIT-JEE
Introduction:
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Khargapur, Madras and Roorkee) and Institute of Technology in BHU (IT-BHU) are institutions of national importance and repute, established through an Act of Parliament. These Institutes play a leading role in technological manpower development and have research programmes comparable to the best in the world. The admissions to the Undergraduate Programmes for all Indian and Foreign nationals at these institutions are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which is usually termed as the toughest competitive examination in India.
Pattern of IIT-JEE
Question Papers
There will be two question papers of three hours duration, each consisting of separate sections in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Questions in these papers will be of objective type, which are to be answered on a specially designed machine-gradable sheet using HB
Language of Question Papers
Candidates can opt for Question Papers either in English or in Hindi. The option should be exercised while filling the application form. The option cannot be changed at any later stage.
Calculators and Log Tables
Use of calculators and log tables is NOT permitted
Tips to crack IIT-JEE entrance test.
Students who passed CBSE 10th from Hindi medium and taken science may face more difficulty in. But those who already passed from English medium may not face to many difficulties as they just have to work hard but those who are from Hindi medium will have to learn the basic vocabulary as well to understand the concept.
But after some time may be one or two month, you will get used to the new syllabus. Many students think it is impossible to clear IIT- JEE – PMT entrance tests, but it is not impossible friends, make your mind prepare and work hard nothing is impossible.
In IIT – JEE entrance exams, some students get success and some not. In spite of doing great hard work and expensive coaching, some students still fails to do well. I am not the master but can advice some tips.

Availability of forms:
The applicants have to collect application form from the various centers recognized in various cities across the country. The form will be available from the month of November. The IIT JEE candidates have to submit the dully filled forms within the mid of December.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized board.
- The candidate can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only, that also should be in consecutive years.
- The candidate must be physically fit for the course for which they have applied.
- The candidates who will be giving their final examinations of 10+2 in 2011 are also eligible to apply.
Important Dates (Tentative)
- Sale of Application form: mid of 3rd week of November.
- Last date for the receipt of completely filled Application forms (through post): mid week of December.
- Last date for the receipt of completely filled Application forms (at IIT’s): end of 3rd week of December.
- Date of Joint Entrance Exam: 2nd week of April.
- Declaration of Result: mid week of May.
Please note that the dates are only tentative and are not final. The post will be updated as soon as the dates are officially released.
Examination Pattern
- There will be two sections in the entrance exam, each comprising of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- All the questions will be Multiple Choice Type (MCQ)
- Negative marking scheme will be followed in the checking of examinations.
- The candidate can opt for question paper in any of the language viz. English or Hindi.
